  • It is literally and figuratively of vital importance that passengers on board of ship can provide medical first aid to fellow passengers. In the international STCW convention has set up legal requirements for this matter. Each officer is required to possess a valid certificate. This certificate is valid for five years. The course Medical First Aid teaches you how to proceed quickly and efficiently in the case of accidents and illness on board.

    The course has been certified by ‘Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport (ILT)’ under institute code NL007

  • During the course, experienced teachers with considerable medical background cover components as they have been prescribed in the STCW table A-V/4-1:

    recognizing causes, scale and severity of the consequences of accidents and diseases on board, providing quick medical first aid to the ill and wounded on board. Emphasis has been placed on teaching practical skills during this course.

  • At the end of this course:

    • you are able to recognize causes, scope and severity of accidents and diseases
    • you are able to provide quick and efficient medical first aid and medical care on board
