The training consists of practical exercises on your own ECDIS.

The focus is on the usage of the equipment. There is plenty of room for questions and discussions. Fading knowledge will be refreshed and the latest developments will be presented.

This training meets the type specific familiarization requirements by STCW, ISM code, flag states and vetting.

There is no exam during this course. After completion of this course you get a “Type specific ECDIS” certificate for the make and model of the ECDIS used during the training.

At the end of this course:
- you can manage the ECDIS type you have on board
- you can safely navigate in case the GPS is failing
- you have carried out all actions required to use ECDIS of your type
This course has been designed for candidates who have completed the general ECDIS course according to model course 1.27 and now require equipment specific training. It has been designed for officers in charge of a navigational watch but others can participate as well.

Entry requirements	Recommended is the “Operational Use of ECDIS” course (IMO model course 1.27) or similar knowledge/experience.
