The international STCW convention also has established legal requirements for medical care provided on board of vessels. Those responsible on board for medical care are required to possess a valid certificate. This certificate is valid for five years. The course Medical Care teaches you how to provide medical care to the ill and wounded on board.
The course has been certified by ‘Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport (ILT)’ under institute code NL007.
During this course the professor covers realistic situations that could occur on board. You learn how to evaluate the situation and to react accordingly. Conducting a medical evacuation is also part of the course programme. The emphasis is put on practical skills of medical first aid and medical care on board.

after a positive result for the practical final exam you will receive the official STCW Medical Care certificate that meets the requirements that have been established in the STCW-convention.
