Socket Termination Course

This one-day training course is intended for people and/or companies that are dedicated to maintenance and applying sockets for steel wires. In this training, the participants learn how to professionally and safely apply socket terminations from epoxy resins on steel wires.

The training consists of a practical part and a theoretical part and the following topics will be addressed:

• Different types of sockets and applications
• Necessary tools and equipment
• Methods and procedures to be utilized
• Preparations to be made
• How and which measurements need to be completed
• Choosing the right socket
• Mixing and pouring resin
• Applying a socket on your own following the right method and procedure.

After a short theoretical instruction during this 1-day training most attention is dedicated to the practice. The groups consist of minimum 6 and maximum 10 participants. The theoretical component is completed with a written exam and the practical component is completed with a piece of work to be created by the participants.

After following this course the participant will have developed skills to apply sockets to steel wires, skilfully and safely by using resin.

This training is intended for people and/or companies that are dedicated to maintenance and applying sockets for steel wires.

• The training is taught in English. Upon request the training can be organized for groups in a different language.
• For individuals it is also possible to hire an interpreter through STC-KNRM.
• The obtained certificate is valid for 4 years.
• The practical component is taught at Franklin Offshore. This location is at walking distance of our training centre.
• Enrolment can only take place through the website of STC-KNRM
• The training takes place at Quarantaineweg 98 3089 KP Rotterdam-Heijplaat, The Netherlands. Participants are expected to arrive at 07.45 hrs for enrolment. The training day will end around 16.00 hrs.
