STC Next transfers Heijplaat Training Center to RelyOn to strengthen focus on core activities, Rotterdam, the Netherlands – 22 October
Effective 20 October, STC Next has transferred its Heijplaat training center in Rotterdam, formerly known as STC-KNRM, to RelyOn. This strategic move ensures that the facility and its team can continue to grow under an organization dedicated to safety-critical training, while STC Next focuses fully on its core educational and research activities.
The Heijplaat facility provides safety and technical training to inland and blue-water shipping companies, marine contractors, the Ministry of Defense, and companies operating in the Port of Rotterdam. By transferring the center to RelyOn, the training programs, including electrical training and water survival, can be consolidated and delivered more efficiently, offering customers a more integrated portfolio of services.
Sven Tump, Chairman of the Board of STC Group, comments: “RelyOn provides a good home for the Heijplaat training center. As a result of this decision, STC Next, remaining part of the STC Group, can focus more on its core activity in specialized accredited training programs and accredited education, intermediate vocational education (MBO) and higher professional education (HBO) levels, for young students and in lifelong learning. STC Next will remain active in shipping (both seafaring and inland), (harbour)logistics, process engineering and maintenance and international projects, including consultancy and research. By transferring the Heijplaat facility to RelyOn, we ensure that this team and facilities are able to further develop under an organization dedicated to safety-critical training and industry needs.

The parties expect to close the transaction on 01 December.
